Episode 20: Nutrition and How it Affects Your and Your Children's Health & Mental Health with Guest Jerry Snider

Season #1 Episode #20

Today, my guest is Jerry Snider!

Jerry is an author, entrepreneur, podcast host, coach, and athlete. After growing up in Baton Rouge, he moved back to his birth state to attend Texas A&M University on a Track & Field scholarship. Earning a degree in exercise physiology, coupled with competing at a high level as a distance runner, has given Jerry the knowledge and tools to transform his client's health and wellness. Jerry and his wife, Jenny, married in June of 2000 and have lived in Hewitt, Texas, since 2002. They have two children, Abigail and Tai. The Snider's are members of Fellowship Bible Church in Waco, Texas, where they have attended church since 2003. Jerry worked in various businesses and non-profits before opening his business, All In Health and Wellness, in 2016. Jerry and Jenny purchased another business, Luna Juice Bar, in January 2020. Their hope is to continue to bring the message of health to the community through healthy meal options. As a certified Life Breakthrough Coach, Jerry believes in a functional approach to solving problems. Discovering and eliminating the true source of pain (what is holding you back) is far more important than treating the symptoms. He has been cited in several articles, blog posts, and podcasts in regards to health, fitness, wellness, and entrepreneurship.

Volunteering in his community continues to be very important to Jerry. He served in Track & Field, Cross Country, and Football coaching roles with Texas Wind Athletics, helping the football team win the first ever Texas Homeschool State Football Championship in 2017. Jerry is in his third year as the Cross Country and Track Coach at Eagle Christian Academy in Waco, TX. Each year Jerry has coached, he has had at least one individual or relay state champion. Jerry has been an active member of the City of Hewitt Parks and Beautification Board since 2018. He has volunteered in various ways at his church including as usher, speaker at retreats, LIFE group leader, and children’s Sunday School leader. He also volunteers at multiple community events each year. In October of 2017 Jerry developed a fundraiser for the City of Hewitt Public Library called All In with Jerry: Running for Readers. He raised $2,000 for the library to expand its selection of books for business owners. To generate awareness for the campaign, Jerry ran every foot of the 258 streets in Hewitt, covering 156 miles in 21 days. With the help of the Hewitt Library, the inaugural Running for Readers 5k occurred in January 2020. To date, Running for Readers has expanded the business section of the library by over 100 books. Snider launched the Confidence Through Health podcast in 2019.
